This article is worth reading. Although I share the view that supporting militarily regimes that are autocratic, and that do not respect human rights, nor are inclusive is in the long-run, detrimental to the stability of the region. However, some aspects of Serval, and now Barkhane force are kept silent. One being that France supported MNLA and refuses to clean Kidal in Mali from terrorist groups.
